A great road trip is about much more than the road.
After several hours behind the wheel of a Mustang, you want somewhere comfortable to stay, somewhere good to eat and, perhaps most importantly, somewhere you can leave your car without worrying about it overnight.
For Mustang owners, parking is part of the hotel decision.
A hotel may have a five-star restaurant, spectacular views and beautiful rooms, but if your only option is leaving a valuable or cherished Mustang on a public street overnight, it may not be the right choice.
That’s why we’re starting to put together something a little different.
The Mustang-Friendly Hotel Guide to Spain
We’re looking for hotels that combine four things:
- Good access to great driving roads
- Secure or covered parking
- A good restaurant or quality dining nearby
- A location that works as part of a road trip
And we’re going to be strict about it.
Where possible, we verify parking and facilities directly from the hotel or hotel group’s own information rather than simply repeating claims from booking websites.
Important: “Mustang-friendly” is our description, not an official hotel accreditation. Parking arrangements, availability and prices can change, so we recommend confirming the exact parking arrangements with the hotel before booking.
Our First Verified Mustang-Friendly Hotels
We’ve deliberately started with a relatively small number and our objective isn’t to produce a list of 100 hotels. It’s to produce a list you can trust.
Parador de Ronda – Ronda, Málaga
One of our strongest recommendations
If you’re planning a Mustang trip through Andalucía, the Parador de Ronda is almost tailor-made for the experience.
It’s located directly beside the famous Puente Nuevo and the Tajo gorge, placing you right in the centre of one of Spain’s great driving destinations.
More importantly for Mustang owners, the hotel has paid garage parking, while independent accommodation information describes it as secure underground parking. The hotel also has its own restaurant.
And then there’s the location.
Ronda is an excellent base for exploring the spectacular roads through the surrounding mountains, including routes towards Grazalema, Zahara de la Sierra and the A-397 towards San Pedro de Alcántara.

A note for Mustang owners
Ronda has traffic restrictions around parts of the historic centre. If you’re staying at the Parador, make sure you provide your vehicle registration details to the hotel and follow its instructions for accessing the property. Recent guest information also highlights that the garage entrance can be relatively tight for larger vehicles.
Our verdict: One of the best combinations of hotel + Mustang + driving roads we’ve found so far.
Parador de Cangas de Onís – Asturias
The gateway to the Picos de Europa
If the Mustang road trip takes you north, this is a particularly interesting base.
The Parador is located in Villanueva de Cangas, around 2 km from Cangas de Onís and with access towards the Picos de Europa via the N-625. The hotel lists free outdoor parking, EV charging and an on-site restaurant.
The restaurant focuses on Asturian cuisine, including local cheeses, beans, Cantabrian fish and traditional dishes.
And the location is the real attraction.
You’re within reach of some spectacular roads around:
Cangas de Onís → Arenas de Cabrales → Poncebos → Picos de Europa

Our verdict: An outstanding road-trip base, although we’d contact the hotel directly if secure/covered parking is essential to you.
Parador de Vielha – Spanish Pyrenees
One for the serious mountain-road enthusiast
The Parador de Vielha is particularly interesting because it gives Mustang owners access to the Val d’Aran and the Spanish Pyrenees.
The hotel sits approximately 2 km from Vielha and is accessed from the N-230.
And here’s why it makes our list:
The hotel officially lists paid indoor garage parking, free outdoor parking, EV charging and an on-site restaurant.
That indoor garage is exactly the kind of facility we’re looking for in this guide.
The restaurant serves traditional Aranese mountain cuisine influenced by Catalan and French cooking, including local meats, game, mushrooms and hearty mountain dishes.

Important seasonal note
The hotel’s current information states a closure period from 5 October to 30 November 2026, so check operating dates carefully when planning an autumn Pyrenees trip.
Our verdict: One of the strongest matches we’ve found for the brief—particularly if covered parking is important.
Parador de Vic-Sau – Catalonia
A hidden gem for driving enthusiasts
The Parador de Vic-Sau sits beside the Sau reservoir and is surrounded by the Guilleries mountain range.
The hotel itself is reached via the BV-5213 and is deliberately positioned away from the bustle of Barcelona.
For Mustang owners, the important details are particularly good.

The restaurant specialises in traditional Catalan and Osona cuisine, with views towards the reservoir and Guilleries mountains.

Our verdict: This may be one of the most interesting under-the-radar Mustang bases in Catalonia.
Parador de Ribadeo – Galicia
For the Atlantic Mustang adventure
Galicia is a completely different driving experience.
Green mountains, Atlantic coastline, fishing villages, dramatic weather and winding rural roads make this one of Spain’s great touring regions.
The Parador de Ribadeo is particularly interesting because it sits close to the border between Galicia and Asturias.
And once again, the parking specification is unusually useful.

The restaurant specialises in Galician seafood and Cantabrian cuisine, including empanada, lacón and local seafood.
The hotel also suggests nearby destinations including Taramundi, Mondoñedo, Castropol and Playa de las Catedrales, making it an excellent base for exploring the northern Galician and western Asturian roads.

Our verdict: A particularly strong choice for a Galicia/Asturias Mustang road trip.
Parador de Baiona – Galicia
Mustang + Atlantic coast + great food
If you want the Mustang experience to include spectacular Atlantic scenery, Baiona is worth considering.
The Parador occupies the historic walled Monte Real enclosure overlooking the Rías Baixas.
The hotel officially lists paid indoor garage parking, free outdoor parking, EV charging and restaurants.
And there are actually two restaurants:
- Torre del Príncipe
- Enxebre A Pinta
Both focus on Galician cuisine, including seafood and Galician beef.
The location also puts you within reach of Vigo, Tui, Pontevedra and the roads of the Val Miñor and Serra da Groba.

Our verdict: A very attractive option for a Galician coastal Mustang tour.
Hotel AS El Puig – Valencia
This one is a completely different proposition.
It isn’t a destination hotel like Ronda or Vielha.
It’s a road-trip hotel.
And sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
The official hotel information states that it has a secure, video-monitored car park, covered parking, 24-hour reception and an on-site restaurant.
Its position beside the A-7 makes it particularly useful when travelling between Valencia and the Costa Blanca.
